Answers to the Questions We Hear Most

Remember, if you have any additional questions, our counselors are here to support you.

We offer a referral service that connects you with healthcare professionals trained in medical abortion.
The doctor will evaluate your case while always maintaining your confidentiality. They may request additional tests to ensure you’re eligible for a medical abortion.

After a medical evaluation, the healthcare professional will determine if you are eligible to receive the Telefem kit, which includes everything you need for your process. This happens after your payment is confirmed.

Anyone who decides to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights by choosing to end a pregnancy can find the support they need through Telefem.
According to current Mexican regulations, you may access the service if you meet the following criteria:

  • You voluntarily choose to terminate your pregnancy.
  • Your pregnancy is less than 10 weeks based on the date of your last menstrual period or an ultrasound, confirmed by a healthcare professional.

Your first contact will be with one of our counselors, who will answer all your questions and connect you with a healthcare professional. After evaluation, the professional will decide whether you are eligible to receive the Telefem kit. After payment confirmation.

Yes, Telefem can support you if:

  • Your pregnancy is 10 weeks or less.
  • You’re able to travel to any city in Mexico to receive your kit.

It’s normal to worry about pain, especially during such a personal experience. In most cases, it feels similar to menstrual cramps. Pain or discomfort levels vary from person to person. Some women report cramps that ease after a few hours.

There’s no need to worry — our medical team will guide and support you every step of the way to help you manage the experience. That’s why it’s so important to stay in touch with your healthcare provider and ask any questions you may have.

Fertility can return as soon as 10 days after the procedure. If you want to avoid pregnancy, we recommend using a long-term contraceptive like an IUD, along with a barrier method like condoms for double protection.
Your healthcare provider is the best person to advise you on post-procedure care and recommend the most suitable birth control methods for you.

Currently, we do not accept insurance for the procedure itself. However, your insurance might cover related lab tests (such as pregnancy-related exams), but not the abortion process.

Your treating doctor will be closely monitoring your health. Don’t hesitate to ask them any questions or raise concerns at any point during the process.

Abortion pills are designed to end a pregnancy and usually involve more than one pill. Emergency contraception — such as the morning-after pill — is taken to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex.
It’s important to know that pregnancy doesn’t happen immediately after sex. Fertilization can take up to six days. Emergency contraception works by preventing fertilization and cannot end an existing pregnancy.

Always consult a healthcare provider for accurate guidance regarding abortion or contraception.

The process is up to 98% effective and is considered very safe. Complications are rare.
It is safe as long as you are supported by a qualified healthcare professional who can monitor your health and provide care as needed throughout the process.
